I like the over all composition of this peace, the nice inky blue background that is neither distracting, nor boring, but very simplistic in nature, helping to focus on the main event of the peace.
The lighting is subtlety coming from above, and also draws focus on the main object of the portrait, like a spot light.

Now to my favorite part the actual guy. The skin texture is very nice and consistent throughout the peace, The scars are both startling and part of the skin, exactly the way real scars are. I woudl only note that the scar in the bottom left corner is a looks almost pixilated instead of textured. This may be because of the size of the scar but it is quite jarring.
The texture of the different areas of hair are well done The curled wisps on his chest look soft, while his stubble and eyebrows, buzz cut seem bristly and stiff.

In all the impression I get form this portrait is a very martial man, who has seen his share of hardship. particularly striking is the strong expression. With his straight mouth and lined face. The light brown eyes are very clear, and piercing. Giving him a hard intelligent appearance, but also an oddly soft note, perhaps a look of hopefulness.

I woudl like to end in saying this is my first time critiquing anything and I was very excited to see you requested a critique for this peace, because this is one of my all time favorite portraits. Not Only is the subject incredibly good looking, but he's exactly the kind of picture you think has a story. The little quote on the bottom really helps intrigue that way.
And me, I'm a real sucker for a good story.
Excellent work.
